ARTHUR JOHNSTONE AND STARS BAND
Arthur Johnstone is one of Scotland’s foremost political singers, and has been for many years. His status was recognised by the organisation Hands up For Trad in 2017 by being given a Lifetime Achievement Award. Arthur’s voice is immediately recognisable, carries authority and his concerts are always entertaining and committed. The Stars Band back up Arthur’s great singing with expert instrumental and vocal skills.
The band comprises Brian Miller (guitars and mandolin), Charlie Soane (fiddle and mandolin) and Gavin Livingstone (keyboards, guitars and banjo). Brian and Charlie have been Arthur’s cohorts for over 25 years, whilst Gavin is a relative newcomer to the band, having been recruited for 201 1’s live album “Doon Through the Years”!
