Mike Silver – Sat 19th October

Sat 19th October – Mike Silver, Doors – 8.00,
Ticket – £10

It’s the voice that you can’t miss, right from the get-go – a warm, seasoned instrument in its own right that brings to life each of the fourteen songs on this latest album by the voice’s owner, time-served roots and acoustic singer-songwriter, Mike Silver. A regular and long-time performer on the English folk scene for many years, Silver has always been known for his self-penned songs, solo performances and, more recently, acclaimed concert and album collaborations with Johnny Coppin – always with the emphasis on home-grown songs; so this departure into performing the works of others is a major change.

A fine night – Bothy Ballads and Burns

A fine night of songs, tunes and stories was enjoyed by all who attended the annual Bothy Ballads and Burns night at the Salmon Bothy.

Guests were treated to a fine traditional Burns Night meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties prepared by resident chief cook and bottle washer Doug Hay.

We were very well entertained by Salmon Bothy regulars and friends Bill Grey and John Dixon and our special guests for the evening Paul Anderson and Shona Donaldson.

Next month we celebrate the club’s 10th year with a whole weekend of events. Fri 15th – Sun 17th March 2019. Click the link below for more information.
