On Thursday 9th November we have Club Regular, Iona Fyfe and her band. A very talented lass from Huntly, and a very fine, award winning performer.
Aberdeenshire folksinger, Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland. A finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2017, Iona embraces the repertoire of her native North East throughout the UK and Europe. Described as “one of the most sunning voices on the circuit today” (Artree), “East”, her debut 6-track EP encapsulating North East folksong was received with great acclaim.
On Friday afternoon from 1400 in the Bothy – Bob Wasler, a world renowned expert in Sea Shanties, will host a workshop. All folk who fancy learning a few shanties and having a lot of fun singing along, should come to the Bothy.
Please let us know if you are interested in attending. This event is FREE. Yes FREE!
Open mic in the evening – doors open as usual 1900.
Bob will open the evening with an extended set and hopefully he will be accompanied by his Shanty Band from his afternoon Workshop.
